It is the best of zodiac signs, it is the worst of zodiac signs. Welcome to Scorpio season: a time when nature gets ready to take a much deserved break. I’ve noticed a trend with Scorpio people. They always seem sweet and pleasant on the surface – but when you get to know them…
The intensity of the constellation of Scorpio is unparalleled. Fellow water signs Pisces and Cancer don’t even come close. After all, Scorpio is the only masculine water sign. A court card that personifies the Scorpio archetype is the King of Cups: together and poised on the surface – but who knows what mysteries lay within?
On 11 October 2017, Jupiter changed signs from Libra to Scorpio. Whenever there’s a major change in the skies, astrologers like to make positive predictions about what will transpire. Who can blame them? No one wants to talk to the astrologer that’s the bearer of bad news. Most people don’t want to deal with their shadow – but that’s precisely what Scorpio energy is all about.
Libra is an air sign – one that’s ruled by Venus: the planet of love. Scorpio is a water sign – one that’s ruled by Mars: the planet of war. The way I see it, this Jupiter in Scorpio transit is all about moving away from the superficial and really digging deep. Scorpionic energy is not interested in things just looking nice – it wants the real deal or it simply won’t settle.
All or nothing. It is the Scorpio way.
But to get there, we must move past fear and into faith. This lesson is difficult – for both Scorpios and non-Scorpios alike. But for people who have a lot of Scorpio energy in their chart, or planets in the 8th house – it’s particularly tough. I have Venus in the 8th house and it took me AGES to understand this placement – and although I now understand it perfectly well in theory – putting it into practise is a whole other story.
Like the Death tarot card, Scorpio is the most feared and misunderstood sign on the zodiac. The essence of Scorpio energy is to let go of everything that is redundant on the physical plane to make room for something new. It’s the beautiful pure white rose that grows in the wake of all destruction.
At their best, Scorpios destroy the old, redundant and unnecessary to make way for the new. At their worst, they work off fear and needlessly self-destruct – taking people down with them. It is either purification or carnage. It is either devoted love or obsession. It is either fear or faith.
With Scorpio energy there is no middle ground.
Jupiter entered Scorpio on October 11th. Later this month, Sun will enter Scorpio. It is the best of times, it is the worst of times. Scorpio energy is not to be trifled with. Tread carefully.
